Juror's Statement
It's never easy to jury a show where there are so many competent artists.
My process for selecting an award is somewhat complex and goes beyond merely
choosing a piece of art because it is attractive. I look for expertise in
handling the medium, strong light and composition, good use of color and originality.
Presentation is always a factor when jurying as well.I make every efffort
not to let any bias enter into my decisions based on style, subject, color
or artist. An award winning painting stands on its own merit.
I congratulate everyone who participated in this show. I know from personal
experience the confidence and reserve that is necessary to put your work under
the eye of the juror. I am honored to have juried such a fine exhibit.
